A Year in Review ~ 2025

This past year was by far my most productive year of writing. I went into it hoping to publish When Darkness Blinds by the end, and while I didn't quite achieve that goal, the heightened focus and push toward writing time meant that I exceeded my previous highest yearly writing time by over a hundred hours! Over the course of the year, I finished revisions for WDB, completed the cover art (a significant portion of which I ended up doing myself!), wrote front and back matter, and edited and formatted the book. This included three out loud readthroughs of the story and multiple rounds of beta readers. In total, I spent just under 938 hours pursuing my writing career! The time breakdown is (approximately) as follows:
After hitting 796.5 hours last year, I had hoped to reach 800 hours this year, but I never dreamed I'd surpass that goal by over a hundred hours! As for sales, things slowed down a bit this year, but I still managed to sell 62 copies of When Shadows Fall (43 direct sales, 19 Amazon sales), and I expect sales to pick up again with the release of When Darkness Blinds. |
